Dresden Cardigan

The Dresden Cardigan was my first garment design as well as graded pattern. My background is in engineering so getting to build a spreadsheet for a pattern design was actually very exciting for me.

The cardigan is long enough that you can wear it with leggings or dress up a pair of jeans. I like my cardigans to be on the longer side, they feel more cozy that way!

You can find the pattern on Etsy, Ravelry Lovecrafts, and here on the website.

Yarn

This pattern calls for Lion Brand Heartland Yarn, which is one of my favourite in the Lion Brand Yarn line up. Heartland is a 100% acrylic yarn and it is one of the softest acrylic yarns I have ever worked with.

I used the colour Isle Royal for my cardigan, but there are so many beautiful colours to choose from.  The colour is not a solid colour but has a heathered look that adds such a depth to the yarn and cardigan.

Skills

This is an intermediate crochet pattern, you will need to know the following techniques: single crochet, double crochet, slip stitch, working flat in back and forth rows. The pattern is designed to reduce the amount of seaming necessary.
